Relationship Therapy for Singles

Are you stuck in a Relationship Groundhog Day?

Do you feel like you keep having the same issues in your relationships over and over again? No matter who you pick, you keep having the same problems.

You know what you don’t want, but somehow it keeps showing up even when you think you finally met someone different.

Therapy for singles is different from therapy for relationships because the focus will be solely on what you want instead of figuring out how to work with a person who you are already in a relationship with.

relationship therapist for singles

Meet Kaylin Zabienski, LMFT. Your therapist for single people.

Hi, I’m Kaylin. I’m a relationship therapist for singles in Orange County.

My approach to therapy for singles is values based. I find that many of my clients think they know what they want, but it is surface level and they don’t understand their own value system deep down. Even when they’ve gone to see dating counselors, much of the focus is around how to find a partner who checks the boxes, instead of making sure that they know what the boxes truly are.

My approach to relationship therapy for single people:

I don't believe that it is necessary to be completely healed in order to truly and fully love another person. Sometimes, the relationships that we are in are exactly what we need in order to learn how to love ourselves first.

Working with me,  you will:

  • get really clear on your values and how they show up in relationships

  • identify and heal past relationship wounds

  • learn what your personal red flags are- and green flags!

  • feel confident enough to walk away from the wrong person

Therapy for singles can be really fun and enlightening as we sort through all of your past relationships- the good, the bad, and the ugly- to figure out exactly what you are looking for.

What is relationship therapy for singles?

Relationship therapy for singles is a way to look at how you show up in relationships and determining how you want to show up differently. We will also look at patterns and similarities in who you are choosing as partners, and decide what you want to be different in your next relationship. Relationship therapy for singles is a way to make sure that you are showing up as the best version of yourself, so that you can attract the best partner for you and get the love that you desire and deserve.

Will you help me find a partner?

Yes and no. Relationship therapy is not a dating service. I am happy to discuss potential dates and partners, and help guide you through any difficult or confusing conversations that occur in dating. We will mostly focus on you and your needs, so that you can feel empowered to pick the best partner for yourself.

How do I know you are right for me?

There are many different approaches to therapy. I have found that by helping my clients learn to observe their thoughts without judgment and to stay in the present moment, that they experience relief within a few weeks.  My goal is to create a safe environment where you will feel empowered to tell me anything that comes up- even the ugly, messy parts. By confronting these parts, we are working together to find self acceptance. When you are able to accept yourself as you are, you tend to stop worrying so much about others. As Carl Rogers said, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change.”
