Messy. Mindfulness.
Mindfulness for the busy person.
Mindfulness for the imperfect person.
Mindfulness for every person.

When I first found mindfulness, I was overwhelmed and burnt out, working two or three jobs at a time just to make ends meet. I had trouble sleeping, I was constantly feeling exhausted and barely had a day off to spend with friends! When I did have a day off, my introverted self was not about to go out and be social. The irony is that I was working so hard to be able to live a block from the beach, but I never actually got to go out and enjoy the beach! I knew something had to change.

I started using guided meditations as I was falling asleep and I found that I actually fell asleep faster, and stayed asleep throughout the night. I was hooked!

I started to learn about what mindfulness actually is (beyond meditation) and found that as I applied the practice to more areas of my life, even though I didn't change much on the outside, my experience changed drastically. I was able to find pockets of time in between jobs to enjoy being alone and to allow my introvert mind to recharge before the next job. I started paying attention to where my money was going, so that as I stopped spending mindlessly I was able to quit one of my jobs and still feel financially secure- and guess what! That meant I had time to hang out at the beach.
